Bugs from the bathroom drain???

I live in an apartment building in Las Vegas, and I think there are cockroaches coming up through my bathroom tub drain. I have only ever seen 4 huge bugs in this apartment. One was on a suitcase from the back of a cab (there you go), and the other three were in the bathtub.

Is it possible they are coming up through the drain? And if I use drano, aren't I clearing the way for them? Please help - I am scared to go in there!
