Reply,
I prefer cast iron over fiberglass/acrylic.
As for the finish, the porcelain finish on a cast iron tub is definetely more durable than the acrylic finish. Care must be taken on both because thinking of re-glazing or refinishing is out of the question. You can't come close to duplicating the original finish.
Good Luck. *westchester plumber*

: We are converting a half bath to a master bath and need a regular bathtub which will be used as a shower/tub.

: We are considering the Kohler Devonshire (60x32x20) which is acrylic and the Toto tub which is cast iron (60x32x16).

: We like the looks of the acrylic (just saw it in the picture) but are concerned that acrylics scratch easily and will lose its glossiness over time. Would cast iron tubs keep their glossy appearance? I was told that acrylics can be rebuffed the same way cast iron can be reglazed when either looks old and worn. Does the rebuffing and/or reglazing last?

: Depth is not an issue.

: What is your advice regarding cast iron vs acrylic tub?

: Also, do you know if the Toto tub comes with the Sanagloss finish?

: Thanks.
