I'm replacing some slow draining galvinized pipes from 1st floor full bath, does it make sense that if once replaced, the future free flowing water would help make the drain line in the basement less likely to clog up? So far, the one line from the sink I replaced was completely filled with black sludge like material. I'd assume that the line from the shower will be the same.
