| In response to Re: Blue spots under linoleum-toilet leak? | |

: I was blaming the blue spots under my linoleum floor on my boys (they've flooded it twice during bath time). I didn't realize until recently they are caused my moisture. However, the spots are on both sides of the toilet and getting larger. I have noticed an occasional "drip" sound from the toilet (sounds like one drop of water from a faucet). I'm having a tile floor installed and a new TOTO Drake installed by a plumber. : What actions do I need to take to make sure I don't get moisture under my new floor, and can any plumber install a TOTO? Since I've never needed one, I'm using the plumber recommended by the flooring company. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! It doesn't have to be a leak, condensation or seepage from brass or copper tank bolts dripping to the floor could be the cause. The same thing happens with condensation off copper tubing. Blue/green staining is due to copper or brass corrosion. Gary |
