You will note that the mechanism is held in at the top with ears.
Replacement should be fairly easy with this inner mechanism out.

I can replace a flapper on a conventional toilet, but don't see how the rubber valve on the Caroma can be replaced without removing the tank and unscrewing the flush gearing from the tank. Do you have instructions for doing this repair?
