Few localities permit it to exit the side of the house and even where it is permitted it is not a good idea, unless it is then run vertically to a point above the roof. If it exits the wall, wind blowing from that direction can create a positive pressure in the system which could affect other areas, and sewer gas from the pipe could become a nuisance in the area around the pipe.
: I am looking to add a 1/2 bath to the first floor of our house. The problem is that we are thinking of adding it to a side of the house that is no where near the current toilet and vent. Is it permissable to have the toilet vent horizontally out the house? Or does it have to go above the roof line?
