Dishwasher pressure reducing valve

I have moved into a new house and every time I use the dishwasher there is a thumping sound coming from the pipes. The dishwasher water valve is below the sink and when the dishwasher is on, the metal pipe going to the cold water tap in the sink shakes and makes thumping noises. There is a water pressure reducing valve to the dishwasher so I thought this should prevent water hammer from occuring. Is the pressure reducing valve faulty or do I need to install a water hammer arrestor as well?

Thanks in advance,
Rick
