|In response to Re: Upstairs shower drain has standing water|
Hello. If there is standing water ABOVE the drain and no water standing in the tub in the other bath, it's probably a hair clog. Any persons with long hair over a period of time will clog a drain.: : Is it normal for there to be water in the drainpipe of a second floor shower? A few days ago, the shower quit draining completely. Chemical treatment has cleared the drain, and water now drains at a normal pace. However, there is water left in the drain at all times. There are two full bathrooms upstairs that share drains to the street. All other drains appear to be working normally.
: Yes. This is your trap seal.
