|In response to Re: Basement Bathroom|
: I am building a new home- I will have plumbing in the basement roughed in for a future full bath. Can the toilet or bathtub pipes/plumbing also be used for a washing machine if I decide to locate my laundry room downstairs?
: If not- what do I need to ask the contract/plumber to rough in for a possible washing machine? Sally; If your contractor/plumber is on the ball, when you tell them of your plans, i'm sure they will know what to provide you with in the form of a rough-in etc. It should include a hot and cold valve near washer location, a floor drain, a laundry tub drain with hot and cold valves..Electrically don't forget a 220 dryer circuit, and a washing machine circuit .110V... and maybe a 4" sleeve in the wall for a dryer vent to the exterior.
