|In response to Re: sewage ejection pump bang|
The bang is the check valve closing. The only way to minimize it is to use a soft seat, or flapper, check valve.
: I just installed a sewage ejection pump. When the pump turns off there is a loud bang in the pipes. I installed the pump and check valve according to spec's and drilled a 3/16" hole in the discharge pipe 2" inches above the pump discharge. Any ideas on how to stop the bang? The discharge pipe runs up about 4' from the check valve and then over about 2' toward the sewer and then 6" down to the sewer pipe connection.
