: What would cause cloudy water? Cold water is cloudy but the hot water comes close to looking like milk. I live in Tucson AZ, My water is hard but would a water softener cure this? The house was bought new ,its four years old. The cloudyness does go away after a minite or so. Thanks Don
Don; Usually, this"cloudiness" is air entrapment within the water, caused by aerators at the faucets. As you say it clears up in a minute or so. It is harmless. High water pressure will also add to the cloudiness, and if you can cut the pressure back a little it will help. Hube
