You need to replace the entire core. There is a nub but it has flats on either side and needs Channellocks or a Crescent wrench to remove it. Then pull the core out, taking notice of whether the locating tab is in the top or bottom slot on the body. Install the new one with the tab in the same direction, or the handle will work backwards.
: I have had a slow drip leak for several weeks and I am attempting to pull the stem out and check washers and seatings to see if perhaps my trouble is with them.Is there a nut that holds the stem in place and if so what size is the nut and is there a special tool made to rech it?
