We have been told that our pipes are rusting. They are galvanized and need to be replaced. However, we are moving in about a year or so and haven't decided if we actually want to go through with this cost right now. The plumber that came out asked if we had a filter for our drinking water. We do - Brita on the faucet. I don't see on the box where it says that it will help eliminate rust or not and I am concerned about the potential dangers of ingesting rust. Can you shed a little light on this subject? What are the dangers? Is this type of filter sufficient? What about the filter we have on our refrigerator which dispenses water and ice?
Thanks in advance for your response...
