As HJ hinted it might be the valve. It's a double valve and when ours quit I was able to get a generic replacement for about 45 Dollars from a local appliance store. If someone presses the button and you listen to the valve in the back of the fridge and it just hums but doesn't click then it's very likely shot. : My water dispenser on my GE side-by-side refigerator has stopped working. The ice maker is working fine so I know the water is getting into the refigerator. I was told there is a valve that might be plugged up - is it something I can replace or do I need to call the appliance repair person? : Thanks.
