: If the pump is running too long and pumping all the water out of the sump before it shuts off that will happen. The hole should be there as a safety measure even if that is not the cause of your problem.
: : Hi, My sewage injector pump doesn't start to pump when it starts. It may be a few minutes before I hear water flowing in the pipe. I'm afraid someday it'll just burn the pump out. Someone suggested that their is pump is air-locked somehow. Someone suggested drilling a small hole just above the pump. -Thanks, Brian
