Tom, you're not going to salvage or reuse anything from the female adapter on. It's all part of the valve. The valve frost proof because it turns off inside, right after it comes off of the supply line. That 12" brass pipe is part of the valve and will be replaced. BTW, I learned the hard way once that you don't leave a hose attached to a frost free valve in the winter time. If you do, the water won't drain and the valve will freeze and break. Just take the whole unit off, toss it, and put on a new one.
