|In response to Re: plumbing under concrete slab?|
: I'm in the process of turning a garage into living space, and need to get drain and supply lines to a new bathroom. The floor is poured concrete. I'm planning to rent a concrete cutter and jackhammer to open the trench, but am uncertain about what to do thereafter. Is it permissible/advisable to simply lay the pipes in the trench and pour new concrete over them? Would it be preferable to avoid copper for the supply lines and use cpvc instead? OR should I maybe just cover the pipes with sand before pouring the concrete? Thanks.
Not sure about pouring concrete over your lines, I used sand for fill in my basement, tamped it down and then poured concrete over it. Used pvc for drain and waste and copper for the supply
