|In response to Re: Basement bathroom remodel|
I guess I wasn't clear. Sorry. The pan has the drain at the end but the floor drain is 6 inches to the left of the shower drain, at the end of the fixture--just like a tub. I've been told that a shower drain had to go straight down into a p-trap. I'm trying to find out if I can put in an elbow like a tub has or do I have to move the pipe in the floor to make it a vertical shot down into the p-trap.
: You either have to move the trap, or get one of the new shower bases that has the drain at the end so you can use the existing drain setup.
: : I'm looking to remodel the basement bathroom. I want to replace the tub with a shower. I'm getting a 60" shower pan so it'll fit in the same space as the tub. Do I have to cut into the floor to move the p-trap so it is directly below the drain or can I just put in an elbow and use the existing p-trap?
