Make sure that the drain (and trap) coming out of the wall will clear (i.e. fit into) the opening in the pedestal. Some pedestals are closed on the bottom half of the pedestal. Alot of the manufacturers have put the installation instructions on the web. It is not a hard job but you might have to install a support in the wall which means opening and repairing the wall behind the sink. If you are luckly, a support was put in place when the house was built.
I am thinking about pulling out my vanity and installing a pedestal sink. Has anyone done that and what were the pitfalls?
