No part of the vent is horizontal. The 3" from the toilet feeds into the horizontal section of a Tee and drains out the bottom. I used a 3" x 1.5" bushing to vent out the top of the Tee.
: The inspector is "always right", but from your description the toilet vent must have part of it horizontal and in that case most codes would require that it be "washed" to keep it from accumulating debris.
: : My wife and I just plumbed a new house and the inspector denied our rough approval because one of our toilet vents was not "washed". Michigan uses the new International Building Code. An inspector from another city told me that the Int'l Code does not specifically state that a vent needs to be washed. Which is correct, washed or not?
