|In response to Re: Water Shut Off Valve|
: It is even less fun to call the plumber at 3:00 a.m. because you tried to repair the tub faucet without turning the water off. That is what a customer did before he called me. In addition, he did not have a shutoff at the building and the water meters were in several different locations and no one knew which was for his building.
: : Just moved into a 1985 townhouse. The home inspector was unable to locate a central water shut off valve. Since I am trying to replace the shower now, I really need the water turned off. It's be no fun to actually call a plumber--any ideas??
: You should check with you association for location. It sound like you have what they call "common water". One meter takes care of the whole bulding. When you turn the water off it will effect your neighbors.
