2 year old residence with magnesium anode attached underground to copper pipe. Source of water is a community water system that passes state testing requirements; however, water is extremely hard. Tests for heavy metals show high amounts of copper.
Is anyone aware of any technical bulletin or reliable information regarding magnesium anodes that (a) attribute copper contamination to an incorrectly installed anode devise; (b) are faulty; (c) are just not indicated for certain soil conditions?
