: My husband and I are in the process of finishing our basement and want to add a bathroom in the Southwest corner next to the Sump Pump and underneath our existing masterbath. We have been told by a couple of knowledgeable people that we would not be able to hook up to the existing plumbing underneath the concrete because there is not enough pitch for the sewage. Would we have to elevate our tub'shower combo and toilet in order to have a bathroom in our basement?
More detail is needed to assess the problem. Are you on a septic or city type system? What is overall height of proposed area?(floor to ceiling) Also, if on a septic, at what height above floor does drain go to tank? If on city drain, is drain to sewer at floor level? Hube
