|In response to Re: New House Construction - Manifold, Insulating pipes|
The manifold system or two water heaters are not mutually exclusive. In fact with the manifold system, because each faucet is served from the manifold individually, the furthest faucets could have extremely long runs so a second manifold near a second water heater may be advised. PVC cannot, and will not, be used. CPVC may be permitted buy the sizes should be increased to compensate for the thicker pipe wall.
: We are building a new home. Should we go with a manifold system or two hot water heaters? Is copper better than PVC? Should the pipes be insulated (for sound) throughout? Any advice is welcome.
