If you can't pressurize the thermal tank with a small compressor or pump the bladder inside is ruptured. Your pressure should match your normal water pressure, up to 80 psi max. If your pressure is higher than 80 add a Pressure Reducing Valve to your system to bring it down. High water pressure is like high blood pressure--you can go for years without a problem, but it is not good for you, and could be catastrophic.
