Our two year old house developed a drain problem that required cutting out an approx 3X4 ft of concrete slab. The floor is finished in ceramic tile. The people who did the repair seem to do a good job replacing the concrete but have left the surface about 1/4" from the top of the original floor. Now we are wondering what to use to get the floor to the original level. We found a product called Floor-leveler but it has gypsum in it and the Thin-set says not to use over a gypsum product. Can we use just Thin-set, if so do we do it in two processes, doing the 1/4" first and then lay the tile as usual or in one process which would make it quite thick and hard to keep level? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't know what to do. Looking back we should have insisted they remove the edge of the cut tile first to get a level floor but hind site is always the best. |
