|In response to Re: slab leak vs. re-plumb|
Well, since your home owner's insurance will normally pay the cost of repairing the leak, but not repiping, and since you do not know why this second leak has occurred, prudence would dictate fixing this one and then repiping if it happens again, and the leak is not due to a poor installation, rather than erosion of the tubing.
: I recently moved into an older home (20 years)in NorthEast Florida. The previous owners had a slab leak in the guest bath, I don't know how long ago. Today I walked into the bedroom adjoining that bath and the carpet was soaked. I called a plumber and he is pushing me to have the whole house re-plumbed through the attic. I really have no idea what to do and the cost difference is amazing. Any guidance would be really helpful. Thanks!
