Shower drain backup from sink/toilet

I'm replacing the shower in our master bathroom.

I'm in the process of plumbing the new shower drain - and left the pieces dry fit for a week.

I noticed a drip the other day - and so we took the dry fit drain apart - and the trap was full of water.

Is this normal? Or should I worry about the sink/toilet backing up into the shower drain?

The toilet drain is 3" copper - comes down - does a 90 degree turn - and 5 feet to the main drain stack. The sink and toilet are 2" copper - and tie into the drain after the elbow. All the pipes are sloped away from their source and "downhill".
