Ceramic Tiles

Please Help. I am wanting to install a new ceramic floor in my kitchen i have purchased the tiles. 12"x12" and the grout and adhesive. the adhesive is STURDI FLEX LATEX MOTAR ADHESIVE. I currently have 12"x!2" vinyl floor tiles down that has been down for a number of years. the bag says i can install the ceramic tiles over the top of these with this motar adhesive? please help can you do this? also if not and i have to pull up the vinyl tiles can i install the ceramic to the luan under the tiles? The luan as you knwo would have been put down for the vinyl to stick to them.
