I'm going to attempt to install a new pedistal sink in my guest bathroom. I'm trying to figure out what to do about the "blocking" to support the sink.
After removing the old vanity and stripping the wallpaper, I discovered what appears to be an outline of the original wall-mounted sink. Without ripping into the plaster, how do I confirm whether I have sufficient wood blocking behind the wall?
A stud finder?
Drill test holes? If so, what do I look for?
If I can't be 100% positive that I have blocking, what should I do? I really don't want to destroy the wall if I can avoid it.
Thanks in advance!
