Shower Water Flow Problem

I have a six year old Am Std Jasmine single handle shower unit (3808-600) that has just recently had a great reduction in hot water flow -- so little flows that it won't keep the diverter from opening. There's also a point in the hot/cold mix where a vibration occurs that can be heard in the pipes downstairs (loud). The bathroom sink has no hot water flow problem. I removed the cartridge and couldn't find any noticeable obstruction or calcium build-up. I know that vibrations can be a flutter or constriction. My only remaining guess is the pressure balancing unit might be stuck, restricting the hot water flow. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
