I am planning a huge (completely gutted) bathroom remodel starting this weekend. The existing shower is leaking between the curb and the tile floor. I will be removing the existing shower and bathroom flooring down to the joists.
What is the best way to begin rebuilding the shower? I have looked at the Dix Onliner, which looks fairly straightforward for installation. Do all shower floor liners require a mortar bed? Should I provide a vapor barrier between the joists and the floor liner/tile floor? What is the best way to repair any joists that are wet from the current leaking?
Thanks for any assistance you may be able to render in this matter.
