: I am adding a bathroom in my basement that is on the front side of my house. My house is a ranch with a low roof line so I do not want the vent line exiting through my roof in the front for cosmetic reasons. Are there any restrictions regarding running vent lines laterally so that I could run the vent line out through the back of my roof? The only restiction that I can think of would be leaving some pitch in the line to avoid standing water from accumulating in the pipe. Any advise would be appreciated. Where could I find written guidelines for vent installation? Thanks!

Most of the time, you can be 1/3 the vertical with the horizonal vents.
If you upsize one pipe size, that distance doesn't matter.
