Dear Terry:

Based olmost solely on your web advice on 1.6 gal toilets, I removed the Eljer Patriot/Savoy and replaced it with the Drake.

Oddly enough, I wouldn't have even gone "surfing" on the net and found your site had it not been for the goofy gasket that Eljer supplies with the Savoy tank.
It does not seem to do the job, and the only solution seeems to be replacement of their proprietary tank to bowl gasket with the standard soft gasket that seems to have been around for years. I really appreciate the helpful information available on your site. The $356.00 (more or less) that I paid at George Morlan Plumbing in Tigard was well worth the difference (comes to about a buck a day for a year).

One question I have on the Drake. Is the tank supposed to "float" so loosely on the bowl. I am concerned about over-tightening and hearing that disconcerting little "ping" when the china cracks.
