|In response to Re: Squirting Shower Valve|
It is probably a Delta valve and the diverter has worn out. Take the plate off and unscrew the diverter then buy a new one and screw it into the valve opening.
: The single handle bath faucet has a small steel cylinder shower valve below it, which you press in to change the water flow from the bath tap to the shower.
: Something happened and now the water squirts straight out around the cylinder at high pressure and the pressure drops so that barely a spray of water comes out of the shower head.
: There are two screws on either side of the round metal plate through which the tap and shower valve cylinder extend.
: Can I repair this myself? I am reluctant to remove the two screws to find out if something has simply slipped off the cylinder beneath the plate.
