I was awakened this morning by the sound of every pipe in the house vibrating. I remedied the problem by closing the water main and re-opening it -- and it started again. A second closing/opening of the valve stopped it for now. The only water running was a small sprinkler loop. Any ideas for a remedy? How damaging is such vibration to the pipes in the house?
