There is no way that an electric heater will be cheaper to operate than the boiler or a conventional gas water heater. If you have room for an electric heater you have room for a regular gas heater and do not have to try to live within the restrictions of a tankless water heater.
: Hi, I live in a ranch with one full bath on the main floor and am adding a full bath to my basement. I have a Mclain boiler for the hot water in my house and the baseboard heat. To meet my hot water needs and to lower my fuel oil bill would it make sense to add an Amtrol boilermate (40 gal) or a 50 gal hot water heater?
