: We just moved and our washer seems to be pushing waste water out too fast for the pipe to handle in the new house. The pipe is about 1.25" in diameter and washer hose is 1". The pipe is vertical and the washer hose is fit down into the pipe and then secured. This will occasionally back up and then overflow despite the fact that the line is clear (snaked and draino'ed). I suspect that the pipe goes down about 3-4 feet and the makes a 90 degree turn. BTW, the washer company says that there is no way to get the washer to pump water out slower.

: How do I prevent this from happening?

: Thanks,
: Leonard
