You can install it around the flange as long as there is something under the flange that it can be screwed to. : THE METAL FLANGE IS ABOUT 3/4" ABOVE THE SUBFLOOR. I STILL HAVE TO INSTALL 1/4" WONDERBOARD AND TILE. DO I HAVE TO INSTALL THE WONDERBOARD AND TILE UNDER THE FLANGE OR CAN I BUTT IT AROUND THE SIDE OF THE FLANGE. ALSO DO I HAVE TO SCREW THE FLANGE TO THE SUBFLOOR.
