: I am remodelling a bathroom and the toilet flange is very high. The reason being that a previous owner remodelled the room and installed tile on top of the old linolium floor. They put while mesh, then a thick layer of mortar and tile on top. The flage is 3-1/2 inches above the joists. : The new finished linolium floor will be about an inch. So the flange will protrude 2-1/2 inches! : Any suggestions? I've never cut cast iron before. How is the flange attached? They must have put this flnge on when they installed the tile floor. : Thanks! : I've gutted my bathroom down to the studs and joists.
