|In response to Re: repair Mansfield frostproof sillcock, installed 1972-75|
Just bought a house with a similar problem. Mansfield frost free sill cock that leaks around handle when turned on. I got the handle off (had to pull HARD) and tighted the plastic nut (why would you ever just plastic?) underneath; the dripping slowed but did not stop. I am also wondering if the cartrige is replacable/fixable or if the whole thing has to be replaced. Thanks for any and all advice!
: Sillcock leaks, want to repair it. Removed handle center screw but blue plastic handle will not come off. The handle appears to have a nut or something else inside it prohibiting it from coming off. Should I be able to turn the handle in a counterclockwise direction and remove the handle? Then I should be able to get to the packing and stem/seat. Pls. advise. Thanks. Ray
