: I was reading back posts that advised checking the toliet ball cocks. When the bowl was about full and the noise started i lifted the arm the noise immeadiatly stopped. Old posts say my problem can be fixed with a new ballcock. Sound correct?

I think you have a good chance of fixing it by doing that.
