|In response to Re: ABS or PVC|
You might want to stay with the cast iron pipe, but use MG, (that is the brand and are similar to Victaulic couplings in their application), couplings which bolt together rather than use the hose clamps.
: I have a sewage ejection pump that pushes the sewage uphill about 40'. The current sewer line is cast iron and we have constant problems with the rubber couplings slipping, because of the high pressure (40' of Water is about 17-18 psi).
: At this point I am planning to replace everything with plastic pipe, to be able to glue it very well. I am wandering whether I should use ABS or PVC pipe. I wander if ABS pipe and the bonds will hold this pressure, or should I use PVC, as this is more of a "pressure" application. Could anyone advise what type of PVC I should use and what would be the trade-off using PVC instead of ABS.
: Thank you.
