(my real e-mail address lacks the middle three words) I just ordered the Crane "Bonham" from Menards (regional competitor of Home Depot, etc.) for about $300. It is polymer-reinforced enameled steel composite, similar to American Standard's Americast. Strangely, AS doesn't seem to make a shorty tub in Americast. Eljer makes one in enameled cast iron, but my local plumbing supply house quoted me almost a kilobuck for it. A potential alternative is to go for a 4-foot long shower. I expect you could find a molded fiberglass job in the 4' length, and I know you can find shower bases in terrazzo or plastic that you can finish out with tile. |
