|In response to Re: hot water tank|
A friend of mine also had the same problem. He fitted a $30 in-line carbon filter. Problem of smelly water solved.
: It could shorten the life of the water heater somewhat, but if the heater is already six or eight years old it would not be a factor.
: : I get bad smelling hot water. I was told it's a combination of well water and a reaction to the anode. The recomendation I recieved was to remove the anode and plug the hole. This corrects the problem, but will it cause problems with the heater down the road ?
