Depending upon the quality and style that was installed by the builder, youe valve could have metal valve seats, ceramic and rubber gasket seats, or plastic and spring loaded rubber gasket valve seats. The single lever control is not usually a homeowner fix device, but you can try this. Turn off the water at the meter or both the hot and cold at the water heater. Then go to the shower and work the handle several times to possibly reseat a gasket that has worked loose, and or debris. Then turn the water back on and see if you were successful. If not....call a LICENSED plumber.
: I have a single lever control valve that controls both temp and flow, that will not shut the flow completely off. What would you recommend???
