I want to know how and where is the best place to install a drain for my water softener. My softener is located in my crawl space. The main house drain is located near the softner, could I tap into that and install an air gap at that location? I would need to follow codes for N. Illinois. I also thought of running the drain tubing up to the main floor washing machine drain. Any ideas are appreciated.
