Are you sure these pumps quit do to deterioration? Quality cast iron sewage ejector pumps last more than twenty years and usually require no backup pumps. They have forged impellers, bronze bearings and sealed housings, and are designed as "grinder" pumps to reduce the size of waste material, sanitary napkins, and the occasional diaper and rubber ducky that slips through. If it is seriously deterioration you are buying poor quality pumps or trying to pump very highly acidic or caustic material which the pumps are not designed for. Try Goulds pump or Zoller, or Teel.Look for them on the web

: i BOUGHT 2 CAST IRON PUMPS LESS THAN 3 YRS AGO- BOTH QUIT DUE TO DETERIORATION! ARE THERE ANY PUMPS WITH LONGER LIFE? THE 2ND PUMP WAS TO BE A BACK-UP-IF THEY QUIT SO SOON, SHOULD i JUST STAY WITH ONE PUMP?
