Electric heaters aren't extremely popular here due to to high cost of power compared to gas but there would be less strain on the tank by not running a flame under it.A life time warranty is good but that just means you'll get a free tank if it goes but they won't cover any damages,plus the relief valve could let go for various reasons,pans aren't that expensive and could save a lot of damage
