|In response to Re: sump pumps|
You get more water because there is something about your landscaping that is directing the rain water towards your house and the drainage tile around the basement is bringing it to the sump.
: The basement on my brand new house was dry for 3 years and in the last two years, the basement has flooded two times. I have a sump pit with two four inch inlets and a 1/3 h.p. pump. After a heavy rain the water will start coming in very heavily for hours and then will slow down to a trickle. During the last flood the pump was running but could not keep up. What are my options. Simply a more powerful pump, but also why so much water(the house next door receives very little). Any help for flood scared homeowner???
